Week in Review: Anyone can be a doctor
Not really at all, but I moonlighted this week.
Guess who was the favorite parent this week? ME. ME. ME. The last time my daughter preferred me over her dad was when she was 12 or 13 months old. We’re so back.

In a recent interview Denzel Washington was asked about the talking heads in the sports media world who haven't played before and, although it’s within a different context, what he said still hits.
People need to shut up. Learn how to do something. Be actually good at something — try that.
I triggered this week 💉
If you’re following along on my IUI journey, you know that this was the week of the procedure. On Monday’s doctor appointment, all results came back in favor of an IUI treatment the next day - lead follicle was 21mm, lining was perfect, and hormone levels were just right. I was instructed to give myself the trigger shot as soon as I got home and then come in the next day for the IUI procedure itself. This was the first time I had to prepare my own shot since it usually comes in the syringe ready to go. There were two vials and two needles, one for mixing and the other to inject.
I used the mixing needle to mix the bacteriostatic water with the powdered medicine, shake it around, and then switched needles to administer the shot just to the lower left of my belly button. Shoutout to the Walgreens youtube video that got me through it. Once it’s all mixed, you clean the injection site, lean the needle 90 degrees, quickly stab yourself while pinching your skin and slowly push the medicine into your body. You release your pinch, count 3 seconds, and remove it. It doesn’t really hurt but it’s not my favorite thing to do. Here’s how I described it to my SIL:

On Monday, KFC shared on X that they’re bringing back potato wedges due to popular demand and that was pretty parental if you ask me. Also, I love this announcement - simple and effective.

Is prison dinnerware a thing?
Not sure what’s gotten into me, and apparently everyone, but I’m loving these stainless steel espresso cups, coupes, and other kitchenware from Soos Atelier.
